ROUSH-YATES, SPEEDWAY ENGINE DEVELOPMENT
WRAP UP “POWER TRIP” TITLES;
MIDGET CHAMP TO BE FINALIZED AT “TURKEY NIGHT”


       The last of three 2008 Calico Coatings “Power Trip” champions will be crowned November 27 at the conclusion of the “Turkey Night Grand Prix” USAC National/Western Midget race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Calif.

       Roush-Yates Engines of Mooresville, N.C. is the 2008 winner in the K & N Silver Crown Series, while Speedway Engine Development of Indianapolis, Ind., is the winner in the National Sprint Car Series. In the Mopar National Midget Series Esslinger Engineering of El Monte, Calif. has a commanding lead entering the Irwindale finale.

       Honoring top engine builders in 2008 USAC National racing, the awards include a $3,000 cash bonus for the championship builders at season’s end.

       Events used to determine points included the August 10 Newton, Iowa., August 16 Springfield, Ill. and November 6 Phoenix, Ariz. Silver Crown races; the August 5 Oskaloosa, Iowa., September 20 Rossburg, Ohio and September 28 Winchester, Ind. Sprint races; and the August 1-2 Belleville, Kans., November 6 Phoenix, Ariz. and November 27 Irwindale, Calif. Midget races.
