SPENCER PUTS A LID ON CRA SEASON SATURDAY
AS THE GLENN HOWARD MEMORIAL UNFOLDS AT THE PAS

Mike Spencer of Temecula, Calif. will conclude his climb to the top of the Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car rankings this Saturday when the Glenn Howard Memorial brings down the curtain on the 2008 series at Perris (Calif.) Auto Speedway.

Spencer has a 78-point lead over runner-up Blake Miller with only 74 points available Saturday. Spencer has 10 podium finishes this year, including a win, five seconds and four fourths. Millers eight podium finishes also include a win and he will try to maintain the lead he has on third-ranking Danny Sheridan, which stands at 51 points.

Spencer and Sheridan are the only two drivers to start all 32 features so far this year.

Fans will also want to keep an eye on fourth-ranking Tony Jones, who recently won four straight features at The PAS and has 18 career wins in the competitive series. Saturdays race is the 98th for the USAC/CRA Sprint cars at the 1/2-mile dirt oval.
